Amazon to Open a Logistics Centre on the Site of General Cable’s Plant in Montcada (Barcelona)

The e-commerce sector, which had already been booming in recent years, has exploded as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. That has caused companies such as the American e-commerce giant Amazon to seek out new locations for expansion.

In this context, Amazon has announced that it is going to operate a new logistics centre on the site of General Cable’s factory in Montcada i Reixac, after it became one of the latest victims of the health crisis in the Barcelona metropolitan area, reports The New Barcelona Post.
