Amazon, the US e-commerce giant, is considering opening a new logistics centre in Badajoz, on a 200,000 square metre plot. The warehouse would be located on a platform close to the road and the railway line that marks the border with Portugal.
The new centre, from where Amazon intends to send orders all over Europe, could create around 1000 direct jobs in the initial phase, a figure that could double in subsequent years.
