Amancio Ortega, the founder and largest shareholder of Inditex, has made another capital injection into the British subsidiary of his real estate company Pontegadea, for the third time since December. On 18 March, the real estate company reported that it had carried out a capital increase amounting to GBP 100 million (€108 million), as reported by Cinco Días.
In December 2019, the British subsidiary carried out two capital increases amounting to €188 million and €113 million. Following this latest operation, the company Pontegadea UK has now received almost €410 million in total. This capital movement is framed within the context of the company’s need to pay for the latest purchases made in the United Kingdom by the businessman. Ortega is the sixth richest man in the world with a fortune of USD 55.1 billion (around €51.6 billion), according to data from Forbes.
