The Spanish airport operator Aena has selected eight candidates to participate in the selection process to partner in Madrid City Airport’s logistics development, next to Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport.

Candidates include P3 Group SARL, Merlin Properties Socimi, VGP Naves Industriales Peninsula, Goodman Lucia Logistics (Spain), Prologis Spain Management, Selp European Holding SARL and Selp Spain Spare 11 S.L.U., Eurocor IX Holdco and PDC Industrial Center 12. Two other candidates failed to progress to this phase, Aena announced this morning.

“These companies, which have demonstrated that they meet the requirements (capacity and suitability, technical solvency and economic-financial solvency), have been invited to participate in the second phase of the bidding process, called the award phase, from which a specialised partner will be chosen to form the Joint Venture with Aena,” the company said.

This first phase of the tendering process focuses on the areas dedicated to logistics development and other associated activities. It includes some 280,000 m2 of land to be developed, with almost 153,000 m2 for building and 40,000 m2 for green areas. The resulting company will be the owner of the surface rights that Aena will constitute over the land in Area 1 in Barajas for 75 years.
