A study by the real estate investigation teams of the Real Estate Business School and the University of Malaga predicts that the coronavirus crisis could cause the sale of new homes to fall by half in 2020.
According to their calculations, 52,416 new build homes will be sold this year – plus those that were pending signature at the notaries’ offices when the State of Emergency was decreed – compared with 98,600 in 2019 and the 99,311 forecast for 2020 before the crisis, which would represent a reduction of 46.8%, according to EFE.
