70 Large Tourism Companies Join Forces to Demand €5.8 Billion of European Funds

Meliá, Barceló, NH, RIU, Globalia, Azora, Exceltur and Iberdrola, amongst others, have unveiled a comprehensive project to redefine the sector.

In light of the severity of the impact of the crisis, several members of the tourism sector have joined forces to take advantage of the ‘unique’ opportunity that the Next Generation EU grants represent to promote the transformation of the sector.

In this way, 70 companies from across the sector’s entire value chain released a joint Manifesto of Interest yesterday, which includes a comprehensive plan to redefine the sector based on sustainability and digitisation, with an estimated investment of 5.8 billion euros.
