40% of Spaniards Will Opt for Rental Housing Within the Next Few Years

The consulting firm JLL forecasts that between 35% and 40% of citizens in Spain will live in rental homes within the next few years.

The residential rental segment has gained ground relative to home purchases in recent years. Currently, the housing stock in Spain is divided as follows: 24% of homes are rented and 76% of homes are owned.  

However, rental housing is expected to continue to rise due to a change in trends. It is estimated that between 35% and 40% of citizens in Spain will live in rental homes within the next few years, according to data from JLL.
