About a third of the 212,291 rental apartments that the Institut Català del Sol (Incasòl) has registered in Barcelona are in the hands of large property owners, according to a report presented by the Barcelona Metropolitan Housing Observatory (O-HB).
The study indicates that 32.4% of these rental properties, equivalent to 69,037 units in total, belong to owners who have more than 10 properties. There are 2,344 such large owners and they represent 2.34% of those who own apartments for rent.
