The American data centre company CyrusOne is arriving in Spain. According to reports, it has acquired a 20,000 square metre plot of land in Alcobendas (Madrid), on which it will build a 6,000-m2 facility.
The future centre will consist of a single space with two floors. It will have an energy capacity of 21 MW. Ten of these megawatts will be self-generated through solar panels, which has earned it the Breeam sustainable construction certification.
CyrusOne has data centres in North America, South Africa and Europe. In the latter, the company is present in Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Dublin, and now in Madrid. It has, in total, more than 50 assets around the world.
