Construction costs are skyrocketing. In 2021, they rose by 23.5%, as reported by the construction company ACR. That rise contrasts with their evolution in 2020 when they fell by 3.8%.
The Director General of ACR, Guillermo Jiménez Michavila, explains: «This rise is directly related to the increase in the price of raw materials, energy and transport and is also strongly influenced by breakdowns in supply chains. As such, construction costs are not expected to stabilise until those malfunctions are corrected.”
