
Barcelona City Council has bought three buildings located in the Horta neighbourhood, specifically on the corner of Calle Doctor Letamendi and Calle Mont-ral. The properties are in a very precarious state and have been acquired for 1.4 million euros to guarantee homes for 45 families, in addition to allowing the comprehensive renovation of the buildings.
The renovation work will cost 4.4 million euros and will be included in the agreement signed in November with the most representative entities of the social and cooperative housing sector to guarantee the right to housing. According to the agreement, the land will be transferred to the foundation, in this case Cohabitac, which will be responsible for the renovation and management of the homes.
