The Executive Council of the Generalitat has approved a decree-law to allow it to intervene in the rental market in Cataluña. The measure seeks to help alleviate the economic impact of the restrictions due to the coronavirus crisis, which came into effect at dawn last Friday, on businesses and the hospitality industry, say sources at the Catalan Executive.
The law provides for reductions of up to 50% in rental payments and focuses mainly on restaurants, bars, and shops; although it also includes businesses from other sectors such as theatres, gyms, leisure centres and hotels.
